Overview

The Home Together Fund is a locally funded initiative powered by Measure W, Alameda County’s half-cent sales tax passed by voters in November 2020. As part of the county’s broader Home Together strategic plan, the Fund is dedicated to addressing homelessness and housing insecurity by:

  • Preserving existing homelessness programs that risk closure due to funding shortfalls
  • Enhancing the effectiveness of current services
  • Expanding new housing and support services aligned with the Home Together Plan’s priorities
  • Making one-time capital investments to expand or improve interim and permanent housing options

Implementation Progress

In Fiscal Year 2025-2026 (July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026), the Board of Supervisors allocated $168.9 million in Measure W Home Together Funds.

In FY 25-26, Measure W Home Together Fund investments will lead to: 

  • 1,490 individuals supported with a housing subsidy, 
  • 1,462 new units of housing, 
  • 298 new interim shelter beds, and 
  • 721 shelter beds receiving increased nightly rate to enhance services and site maintenance.
