A business, organization, or agency that generates small amounts of hazardous waste or only needs to dispose of Universal Waste batteries, lamps, aerosol cans, or latex paint may qualify to use the Household Hazardous Waste Program Business Waste Service. These services are offered on different dates and times from resident services and may require pre-approval and an appointment.

The Environmental Health Department in collaboration with STOPWASTE coordinates services for Alameda County residents to deliver paints, garden products, cleaning products, electronic waste, batteries, lamps, and other products that can damage our environment. Household Hazardous Waste Services are offered at four permanent facilities and at a number of annual community events.
