We facilitate Professional Learning Communities that support, sustain, and improve the work we do through peer learning and sharing of best practices.
District Health and Wellness Leads Learning Community
A collaborative space for District Health and Wellness Leads to develop and refine the key functions of their roles. We share resources, spotlight best practices, discuss data, and engage in professional development opportunities. In doing so, participants maximize their current resources, develop and/or enhance structures, and engage with the data to further assess the micro and macro level needs of their district.
School Health Centers Learning Community
The School Health Center Learning Community meets monthly with annual outcomes focused on: (1) building upon effective practices in school health; (2) connecting SHCs to county and district initiatives and strategies; and (3) developing and applying tools to advance school health.
Caminos Program Learning Community
The goals of the Caminos Learning Community are to share best practices for working with Unaccompanied Immigrant Youth (UIY) () and Children of Migrant Families (CMF), to hold a communal space to enhance comprehensive health and education supports for UIY, and to create an evaluation culture to demonstrate the impact on students. The group is comprised of organizations and districts who are working as part of Caminos across the County.
Restorative Justice Practices Learning Community
The Restorative Justice Practices Learning Community is a convening of restorative justice school district leads from across the county. It is a collaborative space to share best practices, and learn from one another, while ensuring our commitment to equity, inclusion, and cultural relevance, and the populations we serve.
Youth Wellness Learning Community
The Youth Wellness Learning Community is a community of primarily youth-serving organizations, funded through the Measure A Youth and Family Opportunity Initiative. Most agencies also serve families, but their primary focus is youth. We meet monthly to: (1) build a shared health and wellness framework for the youth development work; and (2) strengthen quality practice through peer learning and consultation, research, and presentations/trainings.
Family Liaison Community Network
The Family Liaison Community Network provides opportunities for both school and community-based family liaisons and navigators to learn and find support from each other. We meet monthly to: (1) share successes, challenges, tools and strategies as we engage and support families; (2) share and gain resources throughout Alameda County; and (3) bring in specialists on topics of interest in supporting and engaging families.
