Many medical emergencies are avoidable. Educating the public helps to prevent injury and illness and promotes rapid response to medical emergencies. The Alameda County Health, Emergency Medical Services Agency (Alameda County EMS) offers programs which create opportunities for employment in the healthcare field, supporting delivery of services through a workforce that is reflective of our diverse community.
