Chlamydia Screening Project (ClaSP)
In partnership between the Alameda County Health, Public Health Department(ACPHD), STD Prevention & Control Unit and the Alameda County Juvenile Justice Center, the Chlamydia Screening Project (ClaSP) provides routine chlamydia screening, treatment, referral, and health education for all eligible youth booked into local juvenile justice facilities. The long-term goal of ClaSP is to decrease the prevalence of chlamydia infections among the juvenile justice population by 20%.
The project is supported in part by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the California Department of Public Health, STD Control Branch.

Public Health Investigation (PHI)
The ACPHD, STD Prevention & Control Unit is responsible for Public Health Investigation (PHI)—also known as disease intervention—for chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis. PHI activities are intended to intervene in the spread of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) through follow-up to encourage timely testing and/or treatment for individuals who are infected with or exposed to chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis. Public Health Investigation efforts may also assist individuals with informing their sexual partner(s) of the need to seek counseling, testing, treatment, and/or other related sexual health services.
Sexual Health Capacity Building (SHCB)
The ACPHD, STD Prevention & Control Unit provides free, customized sexual health capacity-building for community-based organizations, academic institutions, correctional facilities, hospitals/clinics, and other government entities.
