Our program aims to:

  • Prevent the spread of the Hepatitis B virus to newborns.
  • Provide health education to pregnant women who are chronically infected with Hepatitis B and their families.
  • Identify household contacts and provide referrals for Hepatitis B medical screening and evaluation

Maintain contact with mothers and physicians to ensure the Hepatitis B vaccine series is given and that post-vaccine serology (a laboratory test that determines if an individual is protected from the virus after receiving the vaccine) is completed in a timely manner to protect the infant and household contacts.
