Feeding Your Family (WIC)

California WIC Card

WIC food benefits are provided monthly on a reusable California WIC Card. All your family’s WIC food benefits are together on one WIC Card. The WIC Card is like a debit card and makes shopping easy. Keep your WIC Card safe. Never throw it away. However, you will not lose your WIC food benefits if your WIC Card is lost, stolen, or damaged.

WIC Food Benefits

WIC Provides Healthy Foods for Growth & Development

Suitable nutrition during pregnancy, infancy, and early childhood is essential for the healthy growth and development of your child. In addition, establishing healthy eating habits and behaviors early in life is important.

WIC provides healthy food packages created to meet your specific nutritional needs whether you are pregnant, postpartum, breastfeeding, or to meet the nutritional needs of your newborn, baby, or child.

Each person who is enrolled in the program will be assigned a food package. Based on that food package, you may receive benefits from WIC for yourself or your child to purchase specific foods such as beans, whole grains, fruits and vegetables, 100% fruit juice, cheese, cereal, eggs, infant formula, canned fish, peanut butter, milk, infant cereal, and baby food.

You can meet with one of our nutrition experts to learn about the impact good nutrition has on your health and the health of your child. In a personal or group setting, healthy eating habits, how to cook healthy meals, and your personal nutrition goals will be discussed.
