June 2 Primary Elections 2026 Important Dates

  • April 3, 2026 Voter Information Guide: Online Version Available
  • May 4, 2026 Early Voting sites open
  • May 5 – June 2, 2026, By this date, all counties shall open ballot drop‐off locations for vote by‐mail ballots. To find a location, please visit: https://caearlyvoting.sos.ca.gov/
  • May 18, 2026 Last day to register to vote for the primary election.  https://registertovote.ca.gov/
  • To check your voter registration status, visit My Voter Status: https://voterstatus.sos.ca.gov/

Voting in Person

Voting by Mail

Starting April 3, all registered voters will be sent a vote-by-mail ballot for the June 2, 2026, election, Registered voters do not need to apply for a vote-by-mail ballot.

It is recommended you mail in your ballot on or before May 26, 2026, days early, (postmark on or before May 26,2026), or drop it off by 8 p.m. on June 2, 2026, at:

Deadline for Voter Registration

May 18, 2026, Last day to register to vote for the primary election.  Register online https://registertovote.ca.gov/

Voter registration forms sent by U.S. mail must be postmarked by May 18, 2026.

You can also vote “conditionally” after the voter registration deadline between:

May 20  and June 2
Alameda County Registrar of Voters office
1225 Fallon Street, Oakland, CA 94612 (courthouse)

May 20 – June 2
at any Accessible Voting Locations near you.

These ballots will be processed and counted once the county elections office has completed the voter registration verification process.
