Reporting a TB Case
Reporting of all patients with suspected or confirmed active TB disease is legally required by Title 17, California Code of Regulations §2500 within one working day of identification. Reporting of latent TB infection (LTBI) is required in certain high-risk situations (children under age two, people who live or work in a health care setting, or civil surgeon patients). Reporting is vital to protect public health as it allows the Public Health Department to intervene and interrupt disease transmission.

Please contact the TB Control to request a discharge, for guidance around the discharge, and/or with any questions.
