Age Group Served: 18 and Older
Program Description: Bonita House, Inc., a private, nonprofit Mental Health agency founded in 1971, offers services to adults with serious psychiatric challenges and specializes in treatment for individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Our continuum of care includes dual diagnosis residential treatment, wellness center day programs, supported independent living, housing, outreach & engagement, employment services, and mobile crisis response teams throughout Alameda County.
Placement Period: Typically, placements begin in August and end in May, but there may be opportunities outside of that period
Program/Placement Hours: M-F 8:30am-5:00pm but can vary depending on program and student schedule. Students are usually on-site 16-24 hours per week (2-3 days), depending on the program and student needs.
Preferred Discipline / Experience: Master’s level students working towards licensure as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW
First or Second Year Students: Will consider both
Supervision & Support: We provide supervision by a licensed professional as required by universities and the BBS. Interns receive 1 hour of individual/triadic supervision for every 5 client direct hours per week. We also provide weekly clinical training. In addition to the Clinical Supervisor, students also have a site supervisor to provide support and guidance at each practicum site.
