Psychiatric assessment is used to determine a person’s mental health and/or substance use challenges, establish a diagnosis, and plan the proper care and treatment. A person may require a psychiatric assessment or formal testing. A clinician may perform an assessment as part of case management services or a client may be referred for psychiatric assessment through a social worker or an inpatient hospital. If you are seeking psychological assessment, please contact your Managed Care Provider (Alameda Alliance for Health or Kaiser Permanente).
