Location: Eastmont Mall, Oakland
Age Group Served: Children 5-18 (18+ must be enrolled in school)
Program Description: Oakland Children’s Services provides mental health treatment to children and their families through Individual, Group and Family therapy. Workers also provide linkage to needed case management services to supplement the mental health treatment. Our referrals are from Alameda County Access, and also school based AB3632 referrals. To be eligible for our services families must be Medi-cal eligible (sensitive services, etc)
Placement Period: Academic school year; Sept-June
Program/Placement Hours: Flexible, but Interns must be on site for Thursday morning staff meeting (9-11am) and also for Friday morning Intern Training.
Preferred Discipline / Experience: MSW, open to recruitment of MFTI students
First or Second Year Students: Second Year; First Year considered with previous mental health service experience (as a paraprofessional/counselor etc.)
Supervision & Support: On site Clinical Supervision provided by 2 LCSW’s. Group Supervision (currently on-site, but may be off-site next year) and also weekly Intern Training (off site)

Stipends Available: Eligible to apply for the ACBHD Graduate Intern Stipend Program, up to $6,000 for a minimum of 720 internship hours, awarded through a competitive process.
