Alameda County Health’s departments and programs focus on services and supports that provide care for the whole person.
The Public Health Department focuses on community and population-level health, preventing and addressing root causes of health inequity across a range of communicable and chronic diseases.
The Behavioral Health Department provides mental health and substance use services for people with Medi-Cal and without insurance.
The Environmental Health Department works to keep our air, water, and food safe; it regulates, protects, and promotes the health of everyone in Alameda County by enforcing environmental health codes to reduce exposure to toxins and diseases.
Housing and Homelessness Services implements expanded homeless services and supports to address homelessness.
Our in-custody programs include Adult Forensic Behavioral Health (AFBH) and our Guidance Clinic/Juvenile Justice Center.
ACBHD provides behavioral healthcare services in Alameda County’s Juvenile Justice Center and Satan Rita jail. Services consist of intake and assessment of needs, crisis intervention, psychiatric medication and counseling services.
Alameda County Health, Behavioral Health Department is the embedded behavioral health provider at the Santa Rita Jail.
Our clinical team from the Guidance Clinic provides an array of behavioral health services for youth/young adults detained at the Juvenile Justice Center.
