November 3, 2026 – General Election
- September 4, 2026: Voter Information Guide: Online Version Available
- September 24, 2026: Start of Voter Information Guide Mailing for the November 3, 2026, General Election
- October 5, 2026: Early Voting sites open
- October 6 – November, 2026, By this date, all counties shall open ballot drop‐off locations for vote by‐mail ballots. To find a location, please visit: https://caearlyvoting.sos.ca.gov/
- October 19, 2026: Last day to register to vote for the primary election: https://registertovote.ca.gov/
- To check your voter registration status, visit My Voter Status: https://voterstatus.sos.ca.gov/
- November 3, 2026 Election Day! Polls shall be open throughout the state from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Voting in Person
- October 5, 2026: Vote centers open for early in-person voting in all Voter’s Choice Act counties from 7 a.m. – 8 p.m. (check-in for your area)

Voting by Mail
Starting October 5, 2026 all registered voters will be sent a vote-by-mail ballot for the November 3, 2026, election, Registered voters do not need to apply for a vote-by-mail ballot.
It is recommended you mail in your ballot on or before October 27, 2026, days early, (postmark on or before October 27, 2026), or drop it off by 8 p.m. on November 3, 2026, at:
- any 24-hour Ballot Drop Box location
- any of the Accessible Voting Locations starting May 4, 2026
Deadline for Voter Registration
October 19, 2026, Last day to register to vote for the primary election. Register online: https://registertovote.ca.gov/
Voter registration forms sent by U.S. mail must be postmarked by October 19, 2026.
You can also vote “conditionally” after the voter registration deadline between:

These ballots will be processed and counted once the county elections office has completed the voter registration verification process.
